ENGINEERING ANALYSIS
Structural Integrity evaluates critical components or systems using a multidisciplinary approach that includes materials specialists and analytical engineers.
We support fitness-for-service analysis, serviceability assessment, remaining life prediction, repair/replacement guidance, design evaluations of critical piping and hanger/support systems, and inspection planning.
INSPECTION SERVICES
In-field condition assessments using non-destructive techniques allow the inspection of materials, components, or systems safely and cost-effectively to provide support for run, repair, or replace decisions.
NDE services include ultrasonic examinations of high energy piping components for the detection of early-stage creep damage, boiler tube DMW examinations, header assessments (tubing, ligaments, header girth welds, and long seam welds), boiler tube UT in lieu of radiography, flow accelerated corrosion (FAC), turbine blade exams, rotor borsonic exams, and many others.
MATERIALS LABORATORY
A full range of metallurgical expertise and comprehensive support of our client’s material issues.
Proactively analyzing components to assess current condition (as part of overall asset management functions) or identifying failure modes and causes helps business planning, addressing safety concerns, and implementing technical changes to reduce and eliminate future failures.
MONITORING & INSTRUMENTATION
SI offers monitoring services and instrumentation to detect damage to plant equipment as it is occurring and report on remaining useful life.
This access to data combined with analytical capabilities has enabled monitoring critical components in real-time. This data is then available in a web-based format through our PlantTrack interface, saving engineers’ time.
CYCLE CHEMISTRY
SI has the knowledge that gives clients control of complicated plant cycle chemistry, optimizes plant performance, and promotes long-term savings.
Services include reviewing cycle chemistry programs, optimizing feedwater and boiler water treatment, optimizing HRSG cycle chemistry, eliminating flow-accelerated corrosion (FAC), and eliminating steam turbine phase-transition zone damage, instrumentation consulting, and plant personnel training.
RELIABILITY PROGRAMS
Avoiding long-term degradation, systems that operate at high temperature and pressure or experience cyclical fatigue require careful management.
